North Northants Community First Responders
The East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) operates a Community First Responder (CFR) scheme whereby volunteers are trained by EMAS to provide a valuable lifesaving service within their local communities and can respond and react appropriately to any situation.
When a 999 call is received in our Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) an ambulance response is dispatched and at the same time a CFR on-call in the area can be alerted and asked to assist to ensure assistance reaches the patient as quickly as possible. In many medical emergencies the first few minutes are critical, despatching a CFR can save lives and reduce disability.
Our CFR's are trained to provide a range of emergency lifesaving procedures including emergency first aid, cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR), defibrillation and oxygen therapy.
Having been a community group for several years, in recent years our group has grown, and so we registered as a charity on 20th May 2021.
Our Charity number is 1194543
Further details can be found at the following link :- NORTH NORTHANTS FIRST RESPONDERS - 1194543 (charitycommission.gov.uk)
We are also registered with the Fundraising Regulator.
Our CFR volunteers are dedicated to saving lives within their local communities.
