North Northants Community First Responders
Attending events as a charity is crucial for several reasons:
Firstly, fundraising events play a major role in supporting and sustaining our non-for-profit charity. Without them, the essential work carried out by our responders would cease to exist.
Secondly, they raise awareness of who we are as Community First Responders and allow our team to demonstrate Basic Life Support and how to use an AED. These life saving skills can be required at any time and you do not need to be medically trained to perform them; having the basic knowledge from our responders will allow members of the public to be more confident if they were to find themselves in a position if needed.
Thirdly, events are a great way to boost donations. Whether it’s a family-friendly event or any other type of community event, these fundraising events increase funding and ensuring our responders can continue their positive impact in the community.
Additionally, community fundraising events provide an opportunity to utilize and motivate existing volunteers, building stronger relationships and converting one-time donors into major supporters. So, attending these events isn’t just about fundraising; it’s about creating connections and sustaining vital work in our communities. Exclusive events allow our team to appeal to new audiences and engage existing supporters.
We are thrilled to share the fantastic success of our recent quiz night, where we raised an impressive £1789.76 for vital life-saving equipment. The evening was filled with fun, laughter, and a wonderful sense of community spirit. A special thank you goes out to everyone who attended and contributed, making this event such a memorable one. Your generosity and enthusiasm have made a significant impact, and we are incredibly grateful for your support. Together, we are making a real difference!
We recently visited Corby Air Cadets. Rosie led an engaging workshop focused on physical training observations and the use of the razor chair. Rich and Steve conducted a Basic Life Support (BLS) session, teaching recovery positions, CPR, and defibrillator use and James facilitated a classroom session that delved deeper into topics like anaphylaxis, choking, bleeding, and burns. This is carried out to encourage participants to think critically about how the body functions and the signs and symptoms when things go wrong.
It's crucial that we volunteer to teach these skills because they empower individuals with the knowledge and confidence to respond effectively in emergencies, potentially saving lives and improving outcomes in critical situations. By sharing our expertise, we help build a community that is better prepared and more resilient.
It was a profound honour for the North Northants Community First Responders to lay four wreaths in our local area on Remembrance Sunday. This act of respect and remembrance allowed us to pay tribute to the brave men and women who have sacrificed so much for our freedom. Each wreath symbolized our deep gratitude and unwavering commitment to remembering their courage and dedication. Being part of this solemn ceremony was a humbling experience, reinforcing our community's unity and shared values. It was a poignant reminder of the importance of honouring our past while looking forward to a peaceful future.
